Strong response from Taiwan

The Taiwanese authorities have successively issued various strict orders. Those who make films in Taiwan and the mainland to promote military reunification will have their residence permits revoked. They also declared that they will strengthen the guidance and management of film and art practitioners in the development of mainland China, clarify the scope of investigation and punishment of words and deeds related to endangering Taiwan's dignity, and give corresponding education and punishment according to the regulations.

Lai Ching-te announced on March 13 that mainland China is defined as a hostile force outside Taiwan, and said that mainland China's behavior towards Taiwan fully meets the definition of "hostile forces outside Taiwan" in Taiwan's Anti-Infiltration Law. Taiwan will comprehensively review and amend the Military Trial Law to respond to the threat of infiltration and espionage activities by the Chinese Communist Party against the Taiwanese military and restore the military trial system. This decision marks that Taiwan will re-activate the military review system, and military judges will return to the front line to cooperate with judicial organs to handle criminal cases involving active military personnel involved in military crimes such as rebellion, benefiting the enemy, leaking secrets, neglecting their duties and disobeying orders.

Summary and Outlook

After Lai Ching-te defined mainland China as a "hostile force outside Taiwan", CCTV released a video of the mainland navy missile frigate firing live ammunition at sea on Friday to fight back. On the 20th anniversary of the promulgation of the Anti-Secession Law, the Beijing authorities may conduct more military exercises and suppression in the future to fight back against Taiwan independence forces.
